Cristina Müller

Cristina Müller-Karger Pereda, Venezuelan, daughter of immigrants, was born in Caracas on the 7th of June of 1974. For many years she has dedicated herself exclusively to illustrating children’s literature and it was Ediciones Ekaré who published her first book, Claudia y Daniel, written by Blanca Strepponi.

Since then a dozen titles have been published in Venezuela and Spain which have been singled out for prizes such as Desde mi ventana by Ana Tortosa, Anaya 2006, which received an illustration´s mention in Los Mejores Libros del Banco del Libro 2007; Nilo y Zanzíbar, by Javier Sobrino, published by Edelvives in 2007, one of the prize-winning books in the “Certamen Internacional de Álbum ilustrado de la Biblioteca Insular Cabildo de Gran Canaria”.

Also noteworthy are Palabras al viento, by Pedro Okura (La Barca de la Luna ediciones, 2008) and La noche es un tren, (Anaya, 2008), with poems by Alejandro Sandoval Ávila.

At present she is a member of Banco del Libro (Venezuela).
