"Having (and being) siblings is not always easy. One often teeters between conflicting feelings whose poles are rivalry and love, aversion and affection, self-concern and community. Mara Hergueta places these sensations centre stage in her picture book. The narrator, a little boy, speaks to his absent sister directly. At first he enjoys being alone, not being disturbed, doing as he pleases and just having more room to himself and for his world. But then the other emotions gently slip in: feeling alone and bored, wanting to share experiences with his sister. Hergueta captures the sibling relationship in both text and image, creating a tranquil tone and presenting restrained, almost contemplative coloured drawings".
